I was blessed to grow up in a home with a mom who LOVED to cook and bake!
From a young age, I was taught the basics of cooking, baking and perfecting various recipes. I loved all of my mom’s meals and cookies and other treats.
My mom even published her very own cook book filled with all the best recipes from her and other friends and family. I have cherished this cookbook since it was given to me as a new bride years ago. I’ve really enjoyed trying new recipes and adding to them over time to find combinations that light up people’s faces when they get to enjoy what I’ve created!
My creations soon began attracting the attention of others, even outside of my family, and I began receiving requests for my Chocolate Covered Strawberries, particularly around Valentine’s Day.
I offered my high-quality gourmet Chocolate Covered Strawberries for sale on Valentine’s Day and instantly ‘Bizy Dips’ was born! My very first Valentine’s Day in business, I received orders for over 144 Chocolate Covered Strawberries. In February 2019, I made over 480 Strawberries! In February 2020 we made over 800 Strawberries!
The demand started with Strawberries, but quickly grew to my many other recipes including Cookies, Baked Breads, Cakes, Brownies, Pies, Muffins, Rolls and other Gourmet Treats and Delicious Baked Goods!
From our humble beginnings at the Jay County Farmer’s Market to a prominent downtown location in 2020, the Bizy Dips Bakery has become a local favorite in the Jay County, IN region since our inception.
Our warm and gooey cinnamon rolls, blueberry crumble bread, jumbo cookies, and gourmet chocolate covered strawberries have become fan-favorites.
As the business grew, we continued to look for ways to better serve our clients and community.
In early June of 2020, we announced on Facebook our intentions to expand the bakery menu and add a full service coffee, espresso, and tea bar. On August 3rd, Bizy Dips officially partnered with the John Jay Center for Learning located on the corner of Main St. and Meridian St right in the heart of Portland, IN.
We celebrated our Grand Opening to the Public on September 8th, 2020 and the rest, as they say, is history ?
Bizy Dips Bakery & Coffee Shop is inside the main lobby of The John Jay Center for Learning located at 101 S Meridian Street in Portland, Indiana and offers free WiFi, plenty of tables for work or study, space for meetings, and a quality atmosphere where you can enjoy your favorite espresso, coffee or tea drinks alongside our fan-favorite baked goods!
The Bizy Dips Bakery & Coffee Shop’s recipe for success has and will continue to be delivering exceptional quality products and service. All our coffees and teas are sourced local to Jay County and all the baked goods are made with exceptional homemade quality, right here in Portland, IN.
